Travis starts school :::sniff::: on Monday! He will start 4-year-old kindergarten and he is very excited about it (I am, too, it's just so hard to watch him get so BIG!!). It's going to be interesting, I'll say, with all the girl drama. His little "girlfriend" has already said that she wants to sit by Travis at school, but he has already said he wants to sit by some of his guy friends. And so it all begins, lol.

We have a busy, busy weekend planned, most of it church stuff, but I've also got to squeeze in a trip to Kohl's to return a skirt and shirt and to redeem some money coupons I got last time I shopped there. Then I have to squeeze in a trip to get Jacob's hair cut. I am singing Sunday morning, so I have to practice for that. We're just busy as little bees, and starting next week, life will get even more busy. But it's mostly church and school stuff, and honestly, there's no other place I'd rather be spending most of my time. Travis' backpack has all his school supplies in it, labeled and ready to go, his uniforms are ready, everything in that vicinity is ready! Something kind of big/important is about to hit the fan in a couple days, and I can't say so much about it now, but it's got me excited, but nervous at the same time because I'm worried about some folks' reaction to it. (NO, I'm not pregnant! lol) I shouldn't worry about what anyone THINKS, but when it's someone you are rather close to that it could have an effect on, that makes it kind of hard NOT to worry about what that person thinks, ya know? Maybe I'll give a little more insight on this in the next couple days.

Fan Day is in 2 weeks, and then on Labor Day is the kickoff to the 2005/2006 Memphis Tigers football. Honestly though, I've been so busy that, while I'm excited about football starting up again, I haven't had time to think about it very much, which maybe that's a really good thing, because I'm about sick of all these little sports on TV that NO ONE watches, and being so busy is helping the time to pass a little faster.

The wedding Saturday was...NUTS! The poor wedding cake was leaning before anyone got to see it, and since it was placed on a table just beside the door of the fellowship hall, every time the bazillion kids running in and out would slam the door, it sent that poor cake into a deeper state of depression, and it didn't help that SOMEBODY got their fingers into the icing and smeared it on the table. Also, there was no one to keep a nursery, which meant the wedding coordinator was going off the deep end because the mother of the bride "forgot" to designate someone WEEKS ago to keep the nursery, which meant she had no one to leave her own kids so she could actually do her job. The ushers didn't show up 'til after the wedding was over, and since it started to rain outside just before the wedding was to start, the wedding coordinator was outside helping the bride get over to the church from the fellowship hall, and there was NO ONE to tell the wedding party when to start coming down the aisle, and the parents started coming down the aisle during the PRELUDE, which meant I had to SKIP the 2nd song of the prelude and go straight into the song for the parents! THEN the bridesmaids didn't wait for that song to be over, either, but I was really good and smoothing everything over, that probably no one noticed anything was messed up besides me. It's not like anyone in the wedding party was actually paying attention during the rehearsal! lol During the wedding, the storm got pretty violent. I have never that much thunder in one 15-minute span in my life! What was funny was when it was time for the bride and groom to light the unity candle, the electricity went out momentarily, but what I thought had happened was that someone dimmed the lights for the unity candle so that it would look all pretty, and I was supposed to start playing the unity candle song and I couldn't see the piano keys! I muttered under my breath, "Okay, I really can't see!" I hope that wasn't picked up on camera because the camera man was standing right behind me! Then I realized that it was actually the electricity being interuppted by a lightning strike somewhere. Then a few minutes later, when the preacher said "I now present to you Mr. and Mrs. Cooper", the lights immediately went off, as if on cue, and everyone in the church laughed, and then thankfully the lights came right back on so that I could play for the wedding party to go back up the aisle. The reception was nothing short of chaotic. There were about 60 or 70 people crammed in a room made for about 50 people, and everyone was lined up, waiting to be served food, and no one to serve the food!!! Finally, a couple family members of the bride and groom got up and volunteered to help. There was very little help cleaning up, like 2 people besides me, the coordinator, and the Pastor's wife, stayed behind to help. The groom had to help move the tables and put the pulpit back in the church, which I thought was sad! He had NO HELP from his groomsmen on his own wedding day! They are called groomsmen for more than just the sole purpose of standing there on the stage during the ceremony!!! The last wedding Michael was in, he was put to work for 3 days straight!!! Some people!!!

IN OTHER NEWS, we now have Road Runner! I'm thrilled! I can actually go on the internet and not spend 10 minutes waiting for a page to load. Now I'm spoiled. We no longer have a home phone, but I have a cell phone now with unlimited minutes. So all is grand in the communication/technology world.

Last night, women's track & field championship was one of the many sports channels we now have, and the first thing that popped out of my mouth, "How much longer 'til football???" See you at the Liberty Bowl on September 5!
