The house sure is quiet this morning. That's because the boys went with Michael to work today. The wedding I'm playing piano for s TODAY! The rehearsal was last night, and it went better than I expected. I just think the coordinator person expected me to know exactly what I was supposed to be doing (even though I've NEVER played a wedding before), and she wasn't telling me when to start playing the first time we ran through everything, and then she was like "Ms. Candy! (in this snatchy little tone) We need music to go back up the aisle!" So in my very own snatchy little tone, I remarked, "Well, I didn't know I was supposed to start playing because no one was in their places and everyone was talking!" I mean, hello! Either coordinate this wedding or sit down!!! The groom was standing down on the floor instead of up on the stage in his spot, and the groomsmen were talking amongst themselves, and it was pretty chaotic, everyone carrying on their own conversations. I realize the coordinator is pregnant and all, but I have NEVER PLAYED a wedding before, and I asked her beforehand to please cue me in the first time we go through it. The groomsmen for this wedding were HUGE...tall AND fat, and they were standing to where I could not see when the doors open. The doors are supposed to let me know when to start playing. And then, THEN, the bride and her dad walked down the aisle so fast that I didn't even have time to run through the Wedding March one time! The person singing during the unity candle was late getting there, so we didn't even get to practice his song before the rehearsal started, so we couldn't really go through the song during the rehearsal. Did I actually say the rehearsal went well? LOL The 2nd time through, it went better, but everyone walked way too fast down the aisle, and they started walking BEFORE the music even started. Oh yeah, and the ushers were little boys, and they were clueless. And to think I'm counting on their door-opening skills to know when to play!!!!

Then I stayed afterwards and helped decorate, because there was the pregnant, swollen-feet coordinator, and her mother-in-law (which by the way, her mother-in-law GRATED ON MY NERVES!!!), and no one else. They got started a bit later than intended (they are late for EVERYTHING!), so when the rehearsal started, the reception area had not been touched, and the wedding arch in the church wasn't finished. Needless to say, we were up there until after 11 p.m., which meant I didn't get home until midnight. Honestly, I didn't mind helping, it was kind of fun decorating for a wedding, and getting to help out with our church's first wedding ever, but everything was just so disorganized, and when I'm working on a project, I cannot stand disorganization. Everything was wrapped in boxes and bags, and every time one of us would go to look for something, we would have to dig through every bag and box, which is when I came up with the GREAT idea of taking everything out of the bags so we could lay it all out and see what all we had and we could put it where it goes! It didn't help that every time her mother-in-law would start to tell a story about someone we didn't even have a clue who she was talking about, she would stop working! Like, she did not possess the ability to work and talk at the same time! Okay, I will stop ranting now. 6 hours from now, it'll be OVER, praise the Lord!

I must go now and get cleaned up so I can leave in a little while. I have to buy a present for a baby shower tomorrow. Which, by the way, I have a few tales to share about THAT too, but that'll be later. TTFN!
