Yes, I'm still alive, and I know I haven't updated since over a week ago, but I've been busy, and if you got my big long e-mail a couple of days ago, you know exactly why. For those of you who didn't, Jacob has been really sick. He was running a really high fever, we had him in the ER Monday night, and they ran tests on him, only to find out it was a virus, supposedly. He seems to be doing all better now, so I guess he's over whatever it was.

I am really frustrated with Jacob's doctor's office right now. Last Saturday Jacob went to his pediatrician for a check-up and to get caught up on a couple shots he missed along the way. Well, Jacob is 10 months old and still not sitting up on his own, which is not exactly NORMAL, so the doctor was concerned about it and wants Jacob to be seen by a Neurologist. He said it COULD be nothing at all, and Jacob is just taking his own sweet time, BUT he wants to get it checked out JUST IN CASE there is a problem. WELL, the reason I am so FRUSTRATED is because Jacob's doctor SAID we would hear something as to when his appointment with the Neurologist would be on MONDAY. Well, Monday came and went, then Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and now Friday. I have called this place every day, and they keep saying "The referral person will be calling you this afternoon." Well, lots of afternoons have now passed, and still nothing. This morning when I called, I was told the very same thing..."She will call you back this afternoon." I'm not holding my breath.

We are going out of town this afternoon when Michael gets off work, so I have to spend today packing. I got ahead of myself yesterday and cleaned out my truck (it's really an SUV, but I call it a truck...truck is easier to say than SUV...fewer syllables or something). There was so much stuff in there, mostly kid stuff. There were kids' changes of clothes, 3 blankets, a couple nasty old sippy cups (which I threw away..YUCK), toys, books, CDs, Tiger stuff, papers, and several big empty cardboard boxes. (Who knows what I was saving the boxes for?) ANYWAY, we are going up to the lake (Reelfoot Lake, in case you don't know what "the lake" refers to). Michael's parents have a house up there, and they left to go up there yesterday afternoon, so we're heading up this evening and will be coming back Sunday afternoon after church. After everything we've been through the last week or so, we NEED IT!!!! Michael wants me to go fishing with him, but I dunno. I like it and all, enjoying the great outdoors, but something about being on a boat makes me nervous. Me and bodies of water the size of a swimming pool or larger do not mix.

Anyway, I'll try to update a lot sooner next time, if you're still even bothering to stop by here and check! Have a great weekend!
