So how was everyone's Valentine's Day? Mine wasn't as steamy as on some of the blogs I have read ::cough cough::, but it was enjoyable. I guess after 5 years of marriage, and 2 kids, people are too tired to light so many dadgum candles, and just skip to the main event, lol. Over the weekend, Michael gave me an early Valentine present from Victoria's Secret, which was BEAUTIFUL....for Tyra Bank's body!!! The good thing is that it made me all the more motivated to get myself in shape and drop some poundage. Monday he took it back and exchanged it for something else a little more wearable, we exchanged cards, and Michael took me to dinner at this new Italian place called Sopranos. I fasted all day long, saving my stomach for dinner, because I made plans to eat something yummy. We had the house salad and bread sticks, and for the main meal, I had lobster ravioli. The alfredo sauce was so rich, I nearly made myself sick, BUT I saved room for dessert and had Cafe Latte Cheesecake. The service was nice...the restaurant was a little pricey, but really not that bad considering we had salad and dessert, too. I'd definitely recommend giving it a try. I walked on the treadmill yesterday for nearly an hour total, so hopefully that helped burn some unwanted calories. I've been drinking a lot of water lately, and have been skipping the cokes altogether. For lunch I've been eating salads with low calorie dressing. I know I'll probably not ever get back to the body I used to have before I had kids, but I would like to be able to comfortably wear the clothes I already have in my closet, and I do not think that goal should be hard to reach at all. Today, Michael took the day off and we took the kids to the park this afternoon and showed Travis where he'll be playing ball this spring. Sign-ups are this Saturday! I can't wait to see Travis in his little uniform!! The kids played on the playground equipment, Michael worked with Travis on his catching and batting, and I pushed Jacob around the park in the stroller. The weather was BEAUTIFUL today and I'm so glad Michael was able to have the day off. He's been wanting to have a day like that with the kids for a long time now. He works every other Saturday, and it seems like the Saturdays he's off, the weather is bad or there's somewhere else we have to go that day. Honestly, I don't think it's too much to ask for a working father to have a day off just to spend with his family every great once in awhile. Life is too short and kids grow up way too fast. I must try and discuss with Michael a new paint color for the living room....it's like pulling teeth from a chicken, so TTFN!

Just about out of everyone I know, at least one person in their family is sick or has been sick within the last week or so. Today at church, we had so many people out that our Sunday morning attendance was lower than last Sunday NIGHT'S attendance. I usually have about 8 kids in Sunday School, and today, I had 2. One family was out because their oldest son had to be rushed to the ER due to appendicitis, even our Pastor and his family was out tonight because he is coming down with the flue (he thinks) and one of their daughters has tonsilitis. My friend Amanda and her family was out because her 2 kids have tosilitis. Another lady is getting over the flu. Another family was half missing today because one of their kids supposedly has the flu. It's nuts!! I'm just praying nonstop that we can all stay well. Michael has been sick for like a month now, and his throat is still not right, but he's already been to the doctor TWICE, and when you don't have health insurance, you kind of start running out of money.

Today was a pretty tiring day. When various key people are out of church, things can get kind of chaotic, but everything still went smoothly. No matter how much we prepare and have everything planned out, something always kinda throws us for a surprise, but it still always works out anyway.

TOMORROW is Valentine's Day. Michael's taking me to dinner tomorrow night, despite the fact that everywhere will be crowded by the time he gets home from work and we get the kids dropped off, but I really don't mind the wait in a restaurant. To me, it just means we get to spend more time together by ourselves. I really don't expect or ask for any pricey presents...just a card, and maybe something little would be perfectly great with me. It's the thought that counts, not the money spent.

I need to update my prayer blog, so you may read that now if you wish.
