Whew! Supper is finally in the oven. After the breaks started making funny noises on my way home this afternoon, and a glitch in communication as to where on Goodman Rd. I was supposed to meet my sister-in-law to pick up Jacob, things did not get much better. My washer stopped working midway through the 3rd load of laundry when it reached the spin cycle, Michael was late again, and the kids pulled the curtain in the living room out of the wall. I wanted nothing more for Michael to walk in the door and say, "Honey, let's go to El Charro" so that for just an hour maybe, I could forget about all the daily stresses of my paradise. No such luck. So what's in the oven? A new recipe, Swiss 'N Chicken Casserole, handed to me by my sister. It smells pretty tasty. I subsituted the celery with a jar of sliced mushrooms, and after 30 minutes of baking, I am going to sprinkle the remaining shredded swiss cheese on top and bake for the last 10 minutes.
In school news, Travis learned how to write the letter 'I' today. Last week they learned the sounds of "I" and "U". Why in that order, I'm not really sure. He is learning so much, so fast! He has already learned some new songs and poems, and he knows parts of the Pledge of Allegiance to the American Flag, the pledge to the Christian flag, and the pledge to the Bible. The best part about it is, I am working at the school in his class as a teacher assistant on Tuesdays and Thursdays, so I get to observe all of this learning going on. These kids' minds are like little sponges, just soaking up everything and so eager to learn, learn, learn. Simply amazing!
Well that's about all I have time for for now, but I kept my word, didn't I :-) I need to get some dishes in the dishwasher...if that doesn't break, too!
