Glory be, I'm blogging two days in a row. Maybe I can get through this without coughing up a lung. My throat actually feels better, which is weird, considering how much I coughed last night. I ended up on the couch again, and I'm thinking "Will I ever get to sleep in the same bed with my husband ever again?" If one of us is sick, the sick person usually sleeps part or all of the night on the couch, especially if it involves coughing, just so the other person CAN sleep. I ended up getting up around 3 a.m., made myself some hot tea, and stayed online for like an hour and a half, and finally went back to bed. When I went back to sleep, I had a weird dream (surprise):

I was at my Mom's "house", except she lived in an underground cave, and she had several levels of this cave, or "stories" if you will, and they were all connected by these steps carved out of stone. Well, my kids were in the uppermost cave playing, and they were throwing rocks everywhere. This cave was quite a bit crumbly, and I was scared they were going to get hurt. Then a bunch of loose rocks and stuff started sort of shifting and sliding, and I thought the place was going to cave in on me and the kids, so I took them back down to the lower cave where my Mom was, and I was like "Mom, the kids aren't allowed to play up there with the rocks anymore." And my Mom acted like it offended her. She was like "I guess since that part up there is closer to ground level, the rain has kind of eroded it or something." The thing is, the upper cave was more well-lit, but just a big pile of rubble, and the lower cave was darker and it was actually decorated with furniture, flooring, pictures on the walls, etc. It was actually kind of NICE really. Maybe it would be cheaper to just dig a big hole in the ground than to build a house?

Yesterday was Travis' first Tee Ball practice, and it went rather well. As it turned out, lots of parents were there to help, and we supposedly now have 3 assistant coaches, but they have to go to the City Hall TONIGHT to get certified, tonight being the LAST DAY. We knew they'd have to get certified, but we had no idea until THIS MORNING that today was the last day, and it's going to be a problem for some of these coaches because of Wednesday night church, which is extremely understandable. We'd be in the same boat. I just don't understand why the Park Commission doesn't understand that and why they couldn't have it TOMORROW. If these coaches don't get certified, we won't have any coaches on the field. So Michael is highly stressing it, needless to say. Anyway, we have some kids on our team that can REALLY HIT. Travis' hitting is not that great, but we'll work on it. Travis' strong area is throwing the ball. After observing all of his team mates, Travis can out-throw all of them by a longshot. It's just too bad he has to wait like 4 years before he can even start pitching. What made all of this worthwhile was when one of the kids came up to Michael and said "I did real good!" and gave him a hug. It was so sweet! And the other night at the Mexican place, one of our tee ball kids was eating there, too, and he saw Michael and he was like "Hey, there's my coach!" Michael had a blast at practice yesterday...he's loving it. I wish I could've paid more attention to practice...I was just too busy chasing down Jacob. He wanted to get right out there in the middle of all the commotion and I was scared he was going to get whacked in the head with a bat or ball. I wasn't the only one though...there were lots of parents with wee little ones smaller than their wee little ones playing ball.

Did I mention I got my hair cut Friday? I hadn't had so much as a trim since last May, so it was long overdue. My usual lady, Ann, wasn't there (she has cut back to working only Tuesdays and Thursdays), so I had to test my luck and just go with whomever was available. Her name was Linda. She did OKAY, but she did not really listen to me when I told her how much I wanted cut off, and I can't really style it the way I can when Ann cuts it. I wanted maybe one to two inches cut, and then a long layer put in it, and a little more layery (is that a word?) in the back. I tell Ann that, and she does exactly what I want. Linda, on the other hand, cut 3 to 4 inches off, and she put more layers in the front than in the back!!! She kept saying "I think you will like this." And what REALLY got me was that after going around my head, snipping away, she'd realize that one side wasn't even, and she'd go around my head again, snipping more hair, and STILL not be even, which explains why I got more hair cut off than I bargained for. But HELLO, I can cut my OWN hair like THAT! If I wanted that kind of hair cut, I could've saved myself the $24 and butchered my own hair, sheesh! I almost started to wonder if she was actually a beautician. Maybe I was on Candid Camera and they were trying to see how I'd react to someone who didn't know what she was doing. I've NEVER in all my years of going to a professional salon to get my hair cut, ever had a beautician that had trouble evening up my hair! Michael liked my hair when I came home, but I haven't been able to style it right since, and it's driving me nuts. I can't even pull it back in a clip or a pony tail, THAT's how short it is. The way she styled it at the salon, it looked pretty good, but now it looks like crap, and I'm going to have to wait for it to grow out a little so I can go back to Ann and have it done RIGHT. Linda even told me Ann is thinking about quitting altogether so she can help her husband out with some company he started, and I said to myself "Please, NO!" Ann is the ONLY person alive that can cut my hair!! I guess it all goes back to my favorite saying, "Nothing gold can stay."
