Lately I've been terrible about remembering to update this thing. I'm doing good to get to it once a week now! Shame on me! But we are all alive and well, and everything's going pretty good in the neighborhood.

I never updated about Jacob's "surgery", so if I haven't already talked to you about it, everything went well and he has shiny new toofies :-) I think the whole thing was harder on me than it was him, lol. When they got ready to take him from us, I was scared that he would cry, but he was so interested in the nurses' funny hats that he didn't even notice us sneak out of the "holding area" back to our "room". The procedure didn't really take that long, and we were out of the hospital by 9:30-ish. The day of, he was really groggy and slept off and on during the day, but by the next day he was pretty much back to his normal self, except his appetite wasn't quite where it was before. I'm sure those new metal chompers felt funny in there since they were a little bigger than his actual teeth. But all is well and Jacob is as happy and playful and full of mischief as ever :-)

So about my big important decisions...there are two actually:

1. I've been asked to help out in the Christian school that our church started last fall. I won't begin until Fall 2005 if I take the position. Our Pastor WANTS me to teach the 4K-5K class in the mornings (those kids would go to school half days), and then he wants me to spend time with the high school students in the afternoons, helping them with whatever subjects they need help in. The only PROBLEM is that while Travis will be going to pre-school in the mornings, I still have Jacob who will not be in school for several years, and Travis will need somewhere to go in the afternoons. I had previously told my Pastor that I could work at the school half days only, but the ONLY way that would work is if there were someone ELSE to teach the 4K-5K kids, and during that same half of the day I could work with the older kids. Finding someone to keep Jacob just during that half of the day wouldn't be hard, and I wouldn't mind leaving him for just half a day. But I prayed too long to be a stay-at-home Mom to up and leave Jacob ALL DAY for a full time position. Our Pastor already knows that and fully understands. But if I could be there just half days, I WOULD.

2. The other thing deals with us thinking about moving again. We have been wanting to move closer to our church for quite sometime now, and the last time we put it on the market, it was a total flop. We aren't really sure if it's what God WANTS us to do, and I don't know how we WOULD know without taking a step forward to see if God will open doors for us or close doors for us, ya know? Obviously, we will have to sell our house, which means making a few minor repairs. The carpet in the living room and the master bedroom needs to be replaced, the living room needs to be painted, the sinks in the master bathroom need to be repaired (the stoppers don't work...we've already had them fixed once before), there is a small hole in the master bathroom wall (Little Bear did that when he was a puppy), and one of the baseboards in the guest bathroom needs to be fixed (again, Little Bear's doings). That's really not a WHOLE lot when you consider that some people have to replace tile, appliances, carpet, paint in the WHOLE HOUSE before it's sellable. Plus our house has all the nice extra features...bay window, fire place, double garage, big jet tub, separate shower, walk in closets, large living room and kitchen, vaulted ceilings. After looking at a lot of houses in Olive Branch and Collierville, (houses that are MUCH older and need lots more work done to them, no extra features), I am realizing we made a huge mistake buying a house in Horn Lake. I guess Horn Lake is where all the ghetto trash moves? Not trying to sound racist or anything, but we tried to sell our house 2 years ago for $116,000 and did not get ONE CALL on it. SMALLER, OLDER, LESS-LOADED houses than ours, are selling in Olive Branch and Collierville for $137,000 and up. Isn't that wild to think about? BUT, knowing ALL OF THAT, I also know that the things God can do go against the grain of human reasoning, and I've seen so many instances of that happening in my own life so many times, why do I doubt God? I am just going to have faith that God will send someone to buy our house, and will send us to the house He wants us to have! I also know God will supply us with the money we need to do the repairs on our house, and the money to put down on another. We just have to have FAITH!!!!!

Anywho, I am out of here for now!! I will keep everyone updated on the moving situation!
