I'm back, finally!

For those of you who haven't caught me online yet and still actually bother to check my blog in the dim possibility I might have posted something, I'M BACK!!! My new AC adapter from Dell came in, which is where I should've bought one from in the FIRST place.

Soooo, what's new since I've been gone? Let's see...I've been painting. Never painted anything in my life until last week. After I finished the bathroom, I decided to take on a bigger project...the living room. And while I was at it, I thought I might as well paint the hallway since you can kind of see the hallway from the living room. I painted the living room a dark wine/maroon/burgundy/take your pick color. It's a really nice color, although Michael pointed out that it very much resembles Mississippi State's maroon, lol. Which by the way, Michael's really starting to scare me. He's talking more and more about becoming a State fan. My question is, how does one just all of the sudden decide they no longer want to be a fan of one team and suddenly convert to another team? I think part of it has to do with his frustration over Memphis' crappy game last night against DePaul, not to mention the crappy game Saturday against Southern Miss. But hey, you win some, you lose some, and TO ME, being a loyal fan is sticking with your team in good times AND bad. Just think of the loyal Memphis football fans who waited 30+ years for a bowl game. But then I'm told you can't compare Memphis football fans to Memphis basketball fans. Memphis has had a strong basketball program off and on since forever, several NCAA appearances, and we've got this big national name coach that's supposed to be doing something, like getting winning results, and it's just not happening like it SHOULD be happening. But then you can't 100% blame the coach either. I mean, how many recruits said they were coming here and then made a U-turn for the NBA? Exactly. I mean, if it's illegal in the NCAA to give players special incentives (money, jewelry, Escalades, etc.), then where do you think these thugs are going to go? Duh! My humble opinion is that the NBA should only draft players with at least 2 years college, because everything the NBA has to offer (big bucks, endorsements, etc.) is hurting college basketball, unless you're a name like Duke or something of the like. Coach Calipari is an excellent recruiter, but there's only so much he can offer (and get away with) those who commit to play for Memphis. WOW, don't know how I got off on all of that, lol, but I guess if I had to choose, I'd rather be a State fan than an Ole Miss fan. And if Memphis is playing a game, I will always root for Memphis. I still don't think it's right to be a fan of one team for so long, and then just say "I'm fed up with Memphis...they are in a crappy conference, they always get the shaft, their players suck tonight, what happens if the Coach leaves, what happens if we stay in the Pyramid vs. going to the FedEx Forum?" etc, etc. That kind of attitude sucks. You either love your team, or you don't. It's all about loyalty, and enjoying watching your team regardless of what conference your team is in, regardless if they have a bad couple games to lesser teams, regardless who the coach is, and regardless of what arena they play in. And that's the bottom line!

In other news, I ran out for awhile with the kids yesterday. First, we went to the bank, and I got really p/o'd at the teller. The other day I got a check in the mail from our bank for $20. It was like a free $20 for inquiring about a certain new service the bank was offering, and quite frankly I don't remember inquiring about any new service, but hey, $20...I'll take it. So I was depositing some other monies, and along with it I thought I'd cash the $20 check so I could get some gas and take Travis to McDonald's for lunch. The teller, who was of a certain minority group that I won't mention, wouldn't let me have the $20 because Michael hadn't signed it too. WTF? Both our names are on the account, so that made no sense to me, and I've never ran into this before. I told her that too, and she said "The teller that did that must have just let it slip," to which I replied "I have been using this bank going on 4 years now and I've done this countless times." Of course, the fact that their tellers let things slide was kind of unnerving in itself, but that's beside the point. After arguing with this woman and telling her "Fine, I'll just drive away, sign it for him like I've done a billion times, and then come right back." To which she replied, "Now that you told me that, I REALLY can't let you have the money." That is so crazy! I could understand if it were like a large amount of money, but $20? She said she could deposit it into our account but not give me cash. BOTH our names are on the check, BOTH our names are on the freaking account, I gave her my driver's license and everything. Then the stupid (insert choice word here) ended up giving me the check back AND the cash I was trying to deposit! So another words, she didn't take ANY of my money I was depositing, which P'd me off anymore. I was DARING her to look out the window at me, but she never looked up. So I stuck the cash I was depositing BACK into the tube and sent it back through to her. Whatever happened to the friendly, hometown tellers we used to have? I mean, I can remember being a kid, and every time we went to the bank, it was the 2 tellers all the time, and they KNEW who you were...they could put names with faces and you didn't have to show your ID and get your mom's brother's girlfriend's dog's signature before getting $20 freakin bucks! I finally drove off frustrated and p'd off. I got enough money out of the account to eat at McDonald's, and after we ate, I decided to stop in Fred's to see if I could find a small decorative table for my hallway. I found one I really liked in the back of the store, and of course there was no price tag on it, and none in boxes underneath the display one, so I went back to the front of the store and asked one of the workers if they could help me, and she told me there were some more at the front of the store. So I pick one up and realize the thing was REALLY heavy (they didn't come in boxes). So I go to one of the registers to pay for it, I write a check, and guess what? My freaking driver's license was out in the truck from when I'd tried to cash that check earlier. GRRR. There I was with both my kids in the shopping cart, and trying to carry this little table, and I said "I don't guess you will take my check without seeing my driver's license, will you." I told her I left it out in the truck and everything, and of course she said "No." So then she said "You can just leave the table here and go get your license and come right back." And THEN she added "And you can leave the kids here, too, if you want." Can you BELIEVE THAT?!?!? I said "There ain't NO WAY I'm leaving my kids in here, are you CRAZY?" And the woman standing in line behind me gave me this look like she couldn't believe the cashier said that either. Oh, and by the way, this cashier was also of a certain minority group I won't mention...funny, ain't it? I am not a racist person by any means. I've just noticed that every single time I go out into the public, whether it be a bank, restaurant, store, post office, etc., it's always people of that certain minority group that manage to P me off, causing me to bite my tongue to avoid using certain choice words. And for some reason I always say to myself "If I belonged to that certain minority group, they wouldn't blah blah blah, or they'd let me get away with blah blah blah." So anyway, I took the kids and all, got my license, went back into the store, gave her my check, showed her my license, and I think what I said to her must've embarassed or really p'd her off because she didn't say a single word to me. Not even "have a nice day."

And finally, I keep having dreams about Marc. I really can't figure out WHY? And every dream is very similar. Most all of the dreams, I am at my parents' house, he comes back on military leave, and I am aware that I have kids, but in some of these dreams, I am married, and others I am not. And in every dream I am still in love with him. Isn't that crazy?? None of the dreams are EXACTLY the same, as far as what is said and such, but there are a lot of details that ARE the same. I wish I knew why I was having so many dreams about him.

Anyway, I need to get Jacob his bottle, but at least I updated finally. I'll try to come back sooner. :-)
