Hell has frozen over

Not only did I go a day without blogging, I went TWO days without blogging! Heck, everyone else seems to take the weekend off from blogging, so I decided to, too. Well, I didn't exactly decide to...I was just too dang busy. So mark it on your calendar! December 13 & 14 is National Do Not Blog Day!

They caught Sadaam yesterday. I heard it first thing when my alarm clock radio went off yesterday morning. I thought I was dreaming. On the news yesterday they said he's been living like a rat. And my comment was, "Nothing new! He's been living like a rat ever since he's been a dictator!" And my sister said, "Yeah, just a rat living in better conditions for awhile." lol.

I had some straaaange dreams last night!!! I dreamed that I went downtown to visit a friend that lives there (I really don't have a friend that lives downtown) and she lived in an apartment in a 35-story building. Well, I had both kids with me, and I to get to the entrance of the building, you have to climb several flights of stairs outside the building to get there. Well, Travis decided he wanted to take off up all these stairs, and I was afraid he was going to run to the top of the stairs and jump over the siderail, so I sat the baby down on the ground in his infant carrier and started chasing after him. I was asking all these other people to grab Travis and bring him to me, but it was like I was invisible and no one heard me. Then I started worrying that someone would steal Jacob while I was busy chasing Travis. All of the sudden, the kids weren't with me anymore, as if they'd not been with me the whole time, and I went inside the building and I had to ride this scary elevator in this ancient building all the way to the top of the building. So I went in, and suddenly I wasn't there to visit my friend, but was there to get a job. Crazy, I know. Anyway, everyone was on break, and someone told me they were all on top of the building...OUTSIDE. Well I discovered the only way to get up to the top of the building was to climb this little ladder with 4 or 5 steps, and the only problem was this little ladder was literally on the OUTSIDE of the building. Now, if you can imagine, this is a very scary thing...having to climb a ladder on the outside of a building 35 floors up. Well somehow I climbed this ladder and got to the top of the building, and sure enough, everyone was enjoying the sunshine, on their little break. I started talking to some people, asking them if there was another way down, to which they said "nope", and a few minutes later, it was time to go back inside, which meant you have to climb back DOWN on this little ladder, and I'm thinking there is NO WAY I am going DOWN this ladder!!! Well, I did, and then went back inside. I ended up getting this job I was applying for, and made friends with everyone, except of course for the boss lady. She was this old lady with a big hairdo and she reminded me of a teacher I had once. She was MEAN, MEAN, MEAN!!! You could not BREATHE without her getting onto everyone!!! Part of the job requirements was that you have to live in that building, which the thoughts of living in a tall, ancient building scared me for some reason. This boss lady lived in the building, too, and supposedly, this was her way of keeping up with everyone and making sure they went to work. Well one night as the sun was going down, I was looking out the window of my apartment, and there was this beautiful sunset that cast a beautiful light on the ground below. I can't really describe it, but the mean boss lady was in my apartment with me, and I made the comment about the beautiful sunset and the mean boss lady said "Oh, you need to get the drama out of your head," or something like that. Geeze! So after she left my apartment, I was getting ready for bed, and I told my roommate that I was running away. So I handwrote a resignation letter, and then I woke up. What in the HECK does THAT dream mean???

I also had another dream about my ex-boyfriend, Marc. It's so retarded, too, because in my dreams, I'm actually still in love with him. And then I always wake up disgusted. In every dream that I've had of him, he is on leave from the military and is stopping by to see me. Isn't that weird? I think if I could find out whether or not he's involved in the war overseas, I could quit dreaming about him.

And here's my rant. I went to Fred's yesterday afternoon to find some stuff so I could sew a patch onto my purse, (actually it's called a messenger bag) which as you can see below, I did:
Anyway, Fred's was really busy for a Sunday afternoon, and what gets me is how shoppers are totally unaware that there are other people in the store. People take their sweet time looking over one object on the shelf and do not realize they are holding up 14 other people. The aisles are so small you can't get around them, so you have to just stand there and wait to get through there. Totally frustrating.

We did finally get our pictures made, but instead of Friday, we ended up getting them done Saturday morning. We got there first thing right after they opened, and there was little wait at all and the pictures turned out GREAT! We ended up getting one of the whole family, one of just the boys, and one of each boy by themselves. We can pick them up on the 20th.

Memphis lost to Illinois Saturday night :( They weren't supposed to win, but hey, it sure would've been nice, especially come March. We might have won if a couple of our players hadn't tried to be cute and show off and miss. We just needed them to make shots...the cuteness needed to be on the bench. The next BIG game will be against Missouri on December 27. We are definitely going to try to make that game.

And last but not least, tomorrow we're going bowlin'!! No, I don't mean at the Cotton Bowl Lanes, either. I'm talking about tomorrow is the New Orleans Bowl, Memphis v. North Texas, at the Superdome. And after Saturday, I was even MORE excited about this trip than I was before. Someone we met through the messageboard had 2 tickets that weren't going to be used because 2 people in their group couldn't go afterall. Well, the folks reimbursed him for those tickets, so he wasn't out any money. But we had already bought our tickets, which were really crummy seats for $40 each (the same that HE paid for HIS), and he said he would trade tickets with us and just sell OUR tickets on the street and give us those GOOD tickets he had. So not only are we NOW sitting on the 40, on the lower level, IN THE SUPERDOME, we are also going to be sitting with a lot of folks we know from the message board and tailgates. How cool is that??

I don't think I left anything off....I have lots to do today, so this might be all you get. I'll be taking my laptop with me to N.O., so I'll try to update after the bowl game.

GO TIGERS!!!
